Starting A New Career - 7 Myths Held By Women When They Want to Make Changes in Their Working Lives

Starting A New Career - 7 Myths Held By Women When They Want to Make Changes in Their Working Lives

Jump Starter

Women tend to feel guilty if they decide they would like to leave or change jobs. This may happen when they reach a certain age, usually around the time their youngest child moves out of the house or if they find themselves divorced or widowed. These women have usually worked outside of the home for all of their adult lives and they make excuses as to why they should not or cannot start a new career at this time in their life. There are seven myths about this phenomenon and there are good reasons why women can choose to make any changes they want to in their present situations.

I am too old to change careers. That is simply not true. Men and women today generally have several careers throughout their working lives. There is no reason to let you age deter you from following your dreams.I will lose my health insurance. Ask your employer about this long before you plan to leave your job. Most companies fall under the Consolidated Omnibus Reconciliation Act (COBRA), passed by Congress in 1986. It allows you to continue your health insurance by paying the premiums, which are generally much lower than private health insurance. The COBRA plan is mainly for private employers with more than 20 employees. Again, check with your employer and human resource department to get the details of your particular situation.I don't want to go back to school. Who said anything about school? Many times you will find that you already have skills and abilities which are in high demand by other business, or you may plan to freelance or start your own small business from home. Investigate the possibilities before you leave you current position.I will have to change my present lifestyle. Plan on having enough savings to cover up to one year of living expenses, plus some extra resources if you are planning on starting a new business. Other than that, you should not have to live any differently than you are now. When you begin to live the life you enjoy things will fall into place for you.I don't know what kind of job or business I would like to have. That is the biggest hurdle to overcome when you begin to make changes in your life. Ask yourself what you would love doing if money was not involved. How do you want to spend each day? What activities to do you want to be engaged in. After some serious thought you will find the answers you are searching for.My family is depending on me and expects me to continue with the work I am now doing. It is ideal when your family members and close friends are supportive of your decision to make changes in your life, but it does not always happen that way. Explain to them that you want to make some changes that will be good for you at this time in your life. Tell them that anything you do will always be done with love and with their best interests taken into consideration. Ask them to trust you and support during this time.I am afraid of failing at something new. This is the main reason all people, both men and women, stay in their current situations. We all have a basic fear of failing and not being able to go back to what we were doing previously. Face the fear and run right through it to your new life. You can accomplish anything you set your intentions on. Look at your options, see how you feel, and move ahead. You will be glad you did.By taking a hard look at these myths, women will see that they have many choices about starting a new job, career, or business.

World of Warcraft Guide - Warlock - Jump Start Your New WoW Warlock

World of Warcraft Guide - Warlock - Jump Start Your New WoW Warlock

Jump Starter

Congratulations, you have chosen to play a Warlock. If this is the first time you have played a Warlock you should find this information helpful to help get you going. Here we will give a general overview of basic Warlock play and some points on getting your Warlock on it's way too the higher levels A.S.A.P.

The Warlock is similar to the Mage as they are both primarily spell casters. The major difference between the two is the Warlock is the master of damage over time spells, commonly known as DOT's. The Warlock also has the widest variety of debuffs that can be used against their enemies. But in my opinion the neatest thing that the Warlock has is the ability to summon minions to do its bidding.

Starting with the devious imp. This little creature is very handy when starting out with a new Warlock. It does damage to your enemies and when you get to the higher levels it can even provide the Warlock with mana. At level 10 the Warlock learns to summon the Voidwalker which not only fights for the Warlock as a very good tank, but also helps defend the warlock. As the Warlock advances in levels they will also be able to summon other great minions like the Succubus, Felhunter, Infernal, Doomguard and the Felguard.

Besides summoning minions the Warlock also has the ability to temporarily take control of demons in World of Warcraft and have them fight for the Warlock.

Another big benefit of the Warlocks summoning abilities is that the Warlock can summon mounts. Starting off with the Felsteed originally available at level 40 but with the latest World of Warcraft update is now available at level 20. Later on (at level 40)you will be able to learn how to summon the Dreadsteed.

Some points to consider when choosing a Warlock race:

For the Alliance:

There are only two races a Warlock may be for the alliance, human or gnome.

The humans are a overall well rounded race for any class, and the Warlock is no exception. Perception helps to locate transformed enemies and Human Spirit gives a bonus to the Warlocks Demonic Embrace and Fel Armor. Every Man for Himself is probably the most beneficial trait from the human race, mostly in PVP.

The gnomes are a naturally adapted race for the Warlock as they have abilities that help many Warlock necessities. With Escape Artists the gnome helps the Warlock get out of unwanted melee situations. Expansive Mind is great for replenishing the Warlock's mana. Engineering Specialist is a great help to the Warlock in PVP.

For the Horde:

The blood elve's make for a good Warlock using their natural 2% resistance to spells and their Arcane Torrent is great for keeping the Warlocks mana up.

The orc's have many characteristics that will benefit the Warlock. The orcs Blood Fury gives an extra bonus to the Warlocks spell damage for a 15 second period with a relatively short cool down time. Hardiness is of great value to any class as it takes 15% off the duration of stuns which are used by many
foes.

The undead race makes Will of the Forsaken(undead) available to the Warlock which is awesome in PVP among other circumstances. Also the Warlocks Life Tap works very well in conjunction with the undeads Cannibalize trait.

For the most part, the race you choose will only make a difference to the quality of your Warlock in the early to mid levels so don't rack your brain trying to decide the absolute best race for your Warlock. See what race seems like one you would enjoy using and go with it, remember this is for fun.

Fortunately for the Warlock the imp minion can be acquired very early in the game, as early as level one. Be sure to get your imp as soon as possible as it will be of great help to you in questing and combat. Be sure to have your Demon Skin on and then send your imp in to fight. Then cast Immolate from long range to keep you out of harms way. Your imp will usually keep your enemies busy enough to keep your damage low, and your Demon Skin will regenerate 3 health points every 5 seconds. Keep using this strategy for much of the game, the minions and spells may change but the overall strategy shouldn't. After a few levels you will acquire Shadow Bolt and then Corruption. Even though these spells use more mana they are well worth it. But don't forget Immolate, you may want to use it to finish off your enemies towards the end of a battle to conserve mana.

After you have reached level 7 or so, you should start to think about how you want to specialize your Warlock. If you want to play primarily with a group, then concentrate on being purely a damage dealing caster and let the group act as your defense. But if you wish to play mostly solo you will want to pay more attention to your minions as they will be the ones that will keep the aggro off of you and handle the melee combat. The Warlock can solo quite well, and is very useful in a group so which ever way you choose to lean there will be plenty of action.

After that leveling up comes pretty easily, just use some common sense and think ahead about which direction you want to build your Warlock.

Hope you found this helpful.

Thanks and Happy Gaming

Starting a Business Without Leaving Your Full Time Job

Starting a Business Without Leaving Your Full Time Job

Jump Starter

Starting a business in a bad economy, accounts for a very smart move. It provides as a backup option and can prove to be a strong money generator. For example, a small home business or internet business is easy to set up and requires minimal capital.

There are many benefits of working full-time and running a business. A regular job provides family benefits and the side business allows you to follow your dreams, thereby maximizing tax deductions and earning extra income.

There is a wealth of information available on the internet, book stores and libraries that provide guidelines for starting a business. However, before you jump into it, it is always good to chalk out a plan on the time and effort you are ready to invest in starting and running a business.

Analyze your Available Time

In a given week there are 168 hours. Of that sleeping, eating, personal care, family time, and social life could roughly demand 94 hours. If you have a 40-50 hour regular job 5 days a week, you would have a surplus of 30+ hours and weekends to work on your business. But planning is crucial as you do not want to go on a work overdrive, the work done should be enjoyable.

Choose the Right Business

The next important step is to choose the right business based on your passions, skills and time availability. A good side business is one that does not compromise your regular work, family and social responsibilities, but lets you realize your dreams of becoming financially strong.

Plan the Structure

After you have identified the kind of business that interests you, make a work flow or work chart of the business process. Find all the help and resources you need to start and run the business. List your goals, "spread the word" on the internet through family and friends about the products and services your business offers.

Use the Internet

There are two ways to run your business: "online" and "offline". Traditional offline businesses have been there for centuries where the focus is to expand the business by word of mouth alone. The power of the World Wide Web is now known to one and all. It has the ability to cross all known physical and geographical boundaries to connect people all over the globe.

It is the online business that gives many advantages in terms of marketing your products online and the convenience of working from home after your full time job. Harness the power of starting your business online to reach out to prospective customers and clients and expand your business on a global scale.

It is vital to set your expectations on a realistic level when starting a business. Staying grounded and following the rules of business, you can make inevitable progress. The journey of preparing yourself and your mind to undertake a business venture on the whole is the best investment one can make. It makes one strong enough to survive any kind of economy and not fear the fluctuations of the job market.

Get a great head start and start your business!

Jump Drives Vs Floppys, CD, and DVDs

In recent times, there are some words in the English language that seem to have experienced a shift in meaning. One of those words is the word, "cheap." A lot of us would gladly, for example purchase extremely useful items on the "cheap." Cheap USB drive for example. At the end of the day, we are not necessarily looking to brag about some sort of special purchase. Cheap USB drive make sense because they are inexpensive, yet functional as portable data storage devices.

Cheap jump drives are a great way to save money on what used to be a luxury concept. Before the age of flash drives, starting from the very beginning, we were confined to floppy disks. Unlike cheap USB drive, there was no hope of getting a video file, or even an Mp3 on a floppy disk. Then again, in that day and age, video and music files were at their beginning, so the mention of cheap thumb drive is slightly absurd. Internet speeds were barely able to play music of video at this point, rendering the need for portable data like a USB Drive to be non-existent, let alone even addressable.

Before USB Drives, but after the dawn of floppy disks came CD-Roms. These were the first real forms of portable data storage on a mass level that could contain multimedia. It's actually kind of interesting to think back to the days of the CD-Rom, when they seemed so... advanced. Before flash drives, the CD, with its shiny, reflective surface and laser light optic technology, seemed so futuristic, even intimidating to the un-initiated.

While CD-Roms remain a viable multimedia portable data storage vector (averaging around 700MB of storage space), they do have at least two major disadvantages compared to memory sticks. Major disadvantage number one is that CD-Roms are much more delicate that a cheap thumb drive- or any jump drive for that matter. Major disadvantage number two is that CD-Roms are also a lot more cumbersome than a simple flash drive. Sure you can carry around a CD-Rom in a book because they are flat, but try putting one in your pocket like you could a cheap USB drive. And of course, let's not forget that while not advised to test unnecessarily, inexpensive flash drive (or any flash drive for that matter, once again) have been known to actually survive a full wash cycle, lest you accidentally leave it in a pocket on a garment being laundered. Let's see a CD-Rom try and survive that. We think, not.

Cheap USB drives certainly have some formidable competition from DVD-Roms, however. DVD-Roms are great data storage systems for multimedia - and effectively replaced the VHS beginning in the 90s a and ruled for the first decade of the 21st century. However, DVDs suffer the same fragility issues as CD-Roms, and now that cheap USB drives are increasing in storage size continually, it's only a matter of time before flash drives actually end up becoming the true portable data storage vector of choice, if even right now that becomes hard to imagine at this point.

So as you can imagine, the word cheap is no longer necessarily negative, or derogatory when describing something at this point. Yes, it's still not cool to be called cheap in a dating context, however when it comes to portable data storage, and the fact we've weathered some tough economic times as of late, cheap USB Drive sare something to be celebrated, embraced, and appreciated. Technology is a wonderful thing, these days. Three cheers for technological innovation.

Are You Interested in Starting a Home-Based Business? 3 Things You Need to Consider

Are You Interested in Starting a Home-Based Business? 3 Things You Need to Consider

Jump Starter

Starting a home-based business is a life changing moment and for most people it is a fantastic opportunity moving forward. However, there are also some people who start a home-based business but do not do it properly. They burn out, spend more money than they can afford to lose and then they slink off to try and find a job to sort out their troubles.

Before you jump in to the deep end you need to do some thinking. The purpose of this article is to put out there three questions that you must answer before you start your own business from home. You need to take the time to think through these points carefully to make sure starting your dream business does not turn in to a nightmare.

Can you afford to start your home-based business- Can you afford to start your own business? Do you have any money saved up for the months until your new business becomes profitable? If not, do you have another job that you can work at whilst you start your business part time and start growing it?

Do you have the support of your friends and family- Starting your own business takes a lot of time. To be truly successful you need to make sure that you have the support of friends and family. If you do not have the support of friends and family, the long hours that you need to work whilst you are starting out can lead to burnout and can cause hours of angst. If your family doesn't support you, they may get depressed or angry at the long hours you spend in front of your computer after already having spent a full day at your day job.

Do you have a network of mentors who can help you out if you have an issue- As well as the support of your friends and family, you need a business support network. You need alliance partners and mentors who can help you to ensure that you stay on the right track. They can give you advice and also keep you on track. They can also act as your accountability partners.

Starting your own successful home-based business is one of life's great challenges but it can also be one of life's greatest rewards if you do it properly. To ensure your success you need to make sure you consider all three points that I have mentioned above.
